There are people you meet in life and become friends. Elaine was more than that, you met her and you were able to be the best person you could be. Elaine could change your life. I taught in a Confirmation program with Elaine at Saint Anthony's School on Frankford Ave, some of the best years of my life. I will always miss those times.
Elaine's art was one of her loves, teaching art was another. The Catholic High School of Baltimore is where she taught many youth, and made a difference. Making a difference was important for Elaine, and she did just that.
I will miss her forever. No one can take her place in my heart. Family and friends of Elaine, I am sorry for all our loss. But, God willing we will get on with our lives with many fond memories and visions of very happy times.

Mrs. O'Dougherty was my art teacher at TCHS. She knew how I didn't enjoy art. I couldn't draw a lick. But she would encourage me to never give up, try harder and finish with my best work. Many times we would discuss personal issues and she would be a listening ear and a helpful guide. She will be truly missed. I will keep you all in my prayers. My condolences to you all.
