Michael Clarence Gibbs Sr., 76, of Baltimore, Maryland was born March 21, 1947. He passed away in his home on December 14, 2023. Michael attended Douglas Senior High School and attended Coppin State College where he received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and some other certifications in Vocational Rehabilitation studies. He was a proud U.S. Marine who served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Mill, The Social Security Administration and The Chimes Inc, working with adults who had disabilities. He was also a driving instructor for many years. He had a passion for Criminal Law , teaching and counseling others. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Essie Mae Gibbs. He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Michael Anthony Gibbs Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, one daughter and son in law, Melanie Lyde and Damon Lyde of Fayetteville, North Carolina, four granddaughters, Akyrah Harris of Barstow, California, Diamond Lyde of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Nigeria Gibbs of Baltimore, Maryland and Anayah Lyde of Fayetteville, North Carolina, one grandson, Damon Lyde Jr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina and 3 great grandchildren, Erykah McCleod of Barstow, California, Mah’zi Harris of Barstow, California and Nycere Gibbs of Baltimore, Maryland, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
