Matthew Schmale, Sr.

Matthew Franklin Schmale, Sr., beloved husband of Kathy Lettrice Schmale (nee Heck), age 63, passed away on October 15, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. Born on November 22, 1960 to parents Harry F. Schmale, Jr. and the late Mary Francis Schmale (nee Justice).

Matthew was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, son  and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Rachael Jameson (nee Schmale); son, Matthew Franklin Schmale, Jr..; grandchildren, Eren Jameson, Rowan Jameson, Wilder Schmale and Ember Schmale; sister, Laurie Amatucci (nee Schmale) and brother, Mitchell Schmale; nephews, Holden Schmale and Hunter Schmale; and his father, Harry F. Schmale, Jr. and extended family of his wife's.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances Schmale (nee Justice) and brother, Harry F. Schmale, III.

Matthew's hobbies included watching sports and feeding the animals outside of his home. He loved decorating for the holidays and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, while enjoying whatever meal Kathy made.

A Celebration of Matthew's life will be held on November 10, 2024, from 12:00-5:00 PM in the VFW at 1202 Union Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21211. His life was a testament to the support and care he so generously extended to all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.
