Marta (Beckstrom) Cardarelli passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 31st after a brief battle with cancer. She was 73.
Mrs. Cardarelli taught Art to generations of students at The Boys' Latin School for 28 years, and before that for 10 years at Bryn Mawr. She was an alum of The Maryland Institute, College of Art where she studied Art Education and Painting. She will be remembered for her lifelong love and support of the arts, of travel, and of fine dining. She was adored by her family and by her large group of friends.
Mrs. Cardarelli was predeceased by her husband Joseph Cardarelli Jr. She is survived by her daughter Juliana (Cardarelli) Schwartz, son in law Zachary Schwartz, grandchildren Edith and Walter Schwartz, son Joseph Cardarelli III, daughter in law Ashley (Hogan) Cardarelli, granddaughter Judith Cardarelli, and sister Susan (Beckstrom) Simonette, brother James Beckstrom, brother Bradley Beckstrom, and their families. She was an inspiration, and her memory will live on with everyone who knew and loved her.
Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, August 3rd, from 11am- 3pm at The Elkridge Club, 6100 N. Charles St.
