Lincoln Gee Obituary

Lincoln Gee Obituary

Lincoln Alan Gee, United States Marine Corps Veteran, age 67, of Owings Mills, beloved husband of Regina (Sinnott) Gee, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Born on October 16, 1956, in Syracuse, NY, to the late Alan Gee and late Joan (Powers) Hurst, and stepson to the late Kenneth Hurst; cherished, loving father of Jonathan Gee and life partner Sylvia Mullis; caring step-father of Regina (Nina) and husband Josh Emmer, Adam and wife Lauren Hamdy, and Suzie Hamdy; proud gramps of Kellen Gee, Rayen and Camdyn Hamdy; and dear brother of Brian Gee and the late Maria Gee. He is also survived by many family members and friends. Lincoln will be lovingly missed.

Many qualities of Lincoln will be missed by all who knew him, but we believe that the qualities that people would remember him by would surprise him. His attempt to exude the “grump” personality was just for show because deep down inside, he was a softy who loved to make jokes, chat with everyone around him, and lend a helping hand. He always made friends with the grocery store tellers, sparked a friendship with the neighbors by extending unsolicited kindness by cutting their grass, and organized a sleeping bag drive for the homeless with his beloved wife, Regina. His goofy side always made an appearance - not too many people can stop a crying child with a crazy face or funny noise, and most of the time, Lincoln couldn’t either, but he sure did try. Lincoln never met a dog (or child) he didn’t try to pet or play with.

He never shied away from speaking his mind and ensured people around him were doing the right thing. He was a surprisingly good listener and quick to provide advice. Some words of wisdom and life advice Lincoln commonly gave were, “People do what they want,”; “Don’t lower your value because nobody else will raise it,”; “Thought will win every time,” and “Never give up on yourself and never settle.” He stressed the importance of education because he wanted his loved ones to achieve their full potential.

His spirituality was a driving force in his day-to-day life. Each morning, he read and meditated on the Bible, scripture passages, or devotionals to give him the strength and positivity to get through the challenges ahead. His faith consistently grew and unfolded throughout his life. He was raised as an Episcopalian and held those values close to his heart. When he married Regina, he would often attend Catholic Mass with her, and one week before his passing, Lincoln was confirmed into the Catholic faith.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the family-owned and operated Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 7527 Harford Rd, Baltimore/Parkville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 101 Church Lane, Pikesville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will welcome guests following the interment in the St. Charles hospitality room.

In addition to flowers, the family welcomes donations on behalf of Lincoln to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html, a charity in which Lincoln would hold a donation drive for each year on his birthday.
