Kathy Lettrice Schmale (nee Heck), beloved wife of Matthew Franklin Schmale, Sr., age 63, passed away on October 15, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. Born on March 4, 1961 to parents Marcella E. Heck (nee Griffith) and the late Francis J, Heck, Sr.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Rachael Jameson (nee Schmale); son, Matthew Franklin Schmale, Jr..; grandchildren, Eren Jameson, Rowan Jameson, Wilder Schmale and Ember Schmale; nieces, Marcy Vaughn, Anna Brown, Dorothy Longacre and Melanie Heck; nephew, Francis Heck, III; and her mother, Marcella Heck (nee Griffith) and extended family of her husband's.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Heck, Sr.; brother, Francis Heck, Jr.; sister, Anna Flynn (nee Heck); and nephew, Jason Heck.

Kathy's hobbies included watching daytime soaps and true crime. She loved decorating for the holidays and cherished spending time with her family, always ensuring they felt loved and spoiled.

A Celebration of Kathy's life will be held on November 10, 2024, from 12:00-5:00 PM in the VFW at 1202 Union Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21211. Her life was a testament to the love and care she so generously extended to all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.
