James "Jim" Gavin

James George "Jim" Gavin, age 78, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021. Born in Maryland to the late William and Margaret (McCrosson) Gavin; beloved father of Suzanne Taylor and husband Kevin of Jarrettsville, Patrick Gavin and wife Amy of New Hampshire, Andrew Gavin and wife Lindsay of Reisterstown; proud, loving grandfather of Andrew Taylor and Scott Taylor; dear brother of the late John Gavin, Timothy Gavin and William Gavin. Mr. Gavin served his country in the Army, earned 2 Bachelors Degrees (University of Baltimore and Maryland Institute College of Art), and was the publisher for over 20 years of Mid-Atlantic Match Point (a tennis magazine that covered tennis in the Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia and West Virginia region).  He was frequently quoted in newspapers such as the Baltimore Sun about tennis players. He will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.
