Obituary

James David Cox, affectionately called BeBe, 73, of White Hall Maryland, passed away on Friday, September 9th, 2022 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore after battling pneumonia for an extended period of time.

He was born on January 22, 1949, to Mary and Charles Cox in Kona, Kentucky.

James served in the Army as a front-line soldier during the Vietnam War.   He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge for sustained ground contact against an enemy.  He was also awarded the Purple Heart for the sacrifices he made for our great country.

He married the love of his life, Pamela Sue Maxwell on August 11, 1974, and he was proud of his children, Heather Marie Morris and Jeremy David Cox.

He worked as a letter carrier and retired from the United States Postal Service at the age of 67.

He was a nature lover and enjoyed spending time doing “walk-abouts” on his farm with his faithful German Shepard Rachael.  He saw the beauty in God’s creation and was always looking for creatures that were injured that he could nurse back to health.

James is survived by his wife, Pamela Sue Cox, children, Heather Marie Morris and her husband, Chet Morris and Jeremy David Cox and his fiancee’, Stacey Bauer, grandchildren, Trey Morris, Caden Morris, Jordon Ruth, Melanie Ruth and Summer Ruth, and siblings, Donald Cox, Faye Phelps, Jean Balliett, Chester Cox, Charles Cox (Jo Jo), Mary Pelligrini-Natale, Martha Lyden and Danny Cox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Susan Collier and Charles Roland Cox and his brother, Richard Cox.
