James Liston Wiedefeld, 80, passed away suddenly at home on June 20, 2026.

Born on February 15, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jim was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served his country with honor.

He was a devoted husband of 58 years to the love of his life, Barbara Wiedefeld. Together they built a life rooted in family and love that spanned generations.

Jim is also survived by his daughters, Dana and Jillian, sons in law,  Brian Keller and Timothy Albert, each loved by him as his very own; beloved family members Tre and Andrew Pearce; and his cherished grandchildren, Camden James, Bohden John, Isabella Rose, and Corriston James, who gave him, in every sense, his reason for living. 

Jim was a man of many words and an even bigger heart. He never missed a chance to tell the story of his hole-in-one at Pine Ridge and in his younger days, countless hours with a fishing rod in hand, content just to be out on the water. He also never missed a good Happy Hour or never turned down a good plate of Chinese food.

Above all, Jim was there for his girls. He called every single day, always ready to listen, and was the voice of reason whenever something was going on at home or at work. He was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren and never missed a chance to tell anyone who would listen just how much.

He will be remembered for his stories, his pride and a devotion to his family that never wavered.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM, in St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 9215 Old Harford Rd, Parkville, MD. Interment with Presentation of Military Honors is private.
