James Bollino Obituary

On May 12, 2024, James Victor Bollino, known to many as "Jimbo" and "Jimmy", passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. James, age 80, was born in Baltimore City to Samuel and Mary Alice (Ours) Bollino. He was the beloved husband of the late Anita Bollino and long-time companion of the late Donna Restrivera; devoted father to Michelle Bollino, Jennifer Bollino and husband David Budny, Kevin Bollino and wife Keiko and Sarah Bollino and life partner Joey Summerlin; loving brother of Salvatore Bollino, John Bollino, Rosemarie Bollino and the late Bruce Bollino; proud grandfather of Felicia and Shawna Budny, Maya and Taz Bollino, Lacey, Dominick, Ashly and Skylee Summerlin.

James attended grade school at The Saint Paul's School in Baltimore City. After graduating from Samuel Gompers Trade School, James joined the United States Army and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After returning home from the Army, James literally became a "man of steel" (reference to Superman) as his superb workmanship with his hands landed him a career with the Local Union #16 Ironworkers and shortly after was married in 1967 to Anita to start his own family.

After retirement, James became a devoted public servant, spending many years volunteering for Towson YMCA Discovery Group, exploring the great outdoors, and even became a certified beekeeper!

He will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM, with Prayers at 6:00 PM in the family owned Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 7527 Harford Rd, Baltimore/Parkville.
