Edward Lewis Obituary

Edward Milton Lewis, age 74, of Parkville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Born in Baltimore, Ed was the beloved son of the late Milton and Elizabeth (Kahl) Lewis. After the loss of his father at an early age, he was lovingly raised by his grandmother, the late Anna Kahl. Ed graduated from Kenwood High School in 1971 and went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree from Essex Community College.

While attending college, Ed worked for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows’ Pilgrimage for Youth program, where he provided tours of the United Nations and various attractions throughout New York City. Following graduation, he began his professional career as a bookkeeper for that fraternal organization.

Ed built a long and successful career in the automotive service industry. He worked first as a Service Advisor, and advanced to Service Manager at a Ford dealership, a position he held for more than 20 years.

In addition to his parents and grandmother, Ed was preceded in death by his devoted sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Marion, and his granddaughter, Emily Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Erica (Starner) Lewis; his sons, Eric Lewis and wife Erin of Michigan, and Marc Lewis and wife Aga of Poland; his daughter, Erin Lewis of Florida; his sister, Ann Cameron of California; his brother, Nathan Miles and wife Jackie of Florida; his brother-in-law, Lewis Marion of Baltimore; his grandchildren, Christopher, Autumn, Noelle, Ariana, Abigail, Amelia, Eric Jr., Nancy, Benjamin, Fryderek, and Julian; his great-grandchildren, Melonie, Corey, Cheyenne, Holly, and Daniel; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and brothers-in-law Alex Starner of Washington State and Karl Starner of Baltimore.

Ed was an avid history buff and was very proud of his German heritage. He enjoyed music, watching movies, visiting historic sites, trying new foods, and taking Saturday afternoon drives. Above all, Ed cherished time spent with his grandchildren and treasured the memories they shared.

Ed will be remembered for his big heart, quick humor, perseverance, and love for Ford automobiles. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

As a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren, faith was an extremely important part of Ed's life. He was invited to join Grace Pennell's family at Dundalk Church of the Brethren as a child, and ended his faith journey as a member of the Long Green Valley Church of the Brethren, where he served in many capacities. He is particularly remembered for his masterful children's stories, which never failed to bring both smiles and a true Christian message.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the family-owned and operated Parkview Funeral Home, 7527 Harford Road, Parkville/Northeast Baltimore. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkwood Cemetery.
