Gail Ann Snyder, of Catonsville, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1956, in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to the late Margaret V. (Lease) and James E. Walker.
She is survived by her daughter, Misty (Brian) Shappell, of Catonsville, MD and son, Patrick (Cyndi) Thompson, of Mt. Airy, MD, and her five beloved grandchildren; Liam, Jackson, Owen (Thompson), Helena, and Hudson (Shappell). In addition, she is survived by three sisters, Barbara Payton of Georgia, Jeannie Gibson of North Carolina, and Mary Beth Johnson of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband David F. Snyder III, her parents, and four sisters; Patti Walker, Bonnie Willey, Linda Nuttall, and Peggy Brownawell.
Family meant everything to Gail. She was known to have a heart of gold and was fiercely proud of her children and grandchildren. Everyone knew her to be witty, feisty, honest, and funny; always making others laugh and feel loved. She reveled in hosting her friends and family, cooking delicious meals and playing cards, croquet, and board games. Over the years, traveling to visit family, camping with her husband, and attending many concerts brought her great joy. Gail was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 109 in Mechanicsburg, PA and the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530 prior to moving to Maryland.
Family and friends are welcome to a celebration of life at the Thompson residence, 3164 Caveat Court, Mt. Airy, MD on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Visitors will be received from 11am-12pm, service at 12pm, followed by a luncheon and fellowship.
