Rose Torosian Seraydarian died January 2, 2018 from complications following surgery. She was 89. The daughter of Matthew and Gulizar Torosian, Rose grew up in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the oldest of three children; her sister Elizabeth and brother Haroot predeceased her. Rose met her future husband, Thomas Seraydarian, Jr. of Philadelphia, through mutual friends while he served at Fort Sheridan in Illinois. The couple moved to Pennsylvania after their marriage, and later lived in Cherry Hill, NJ. While Rose worked outside the home, her greatest pleasure came from being a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. Rose and Tom retired to Brigantine, NJ in 1984. In 2013, they moved to Oakcrest Village in Parkville, MD where they made many new friends. Rose and Tom celebrated their 65th anniversary in August 2017.
Rose is survived by her husband, her children Richard, Mark and Elise, their spouses, and her five beloved grandchildren. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Oakcrest Village. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rose’s memory may be made to the Oakcrest Benevolent Care Fund, 8800 Walther Blvd., Parkville, MD 21234.
