Green Burial

We are pleased to offer Green burial to residents of Maryland. Green burial can be fulfilled in any cemetery that allows the casket to be lowered directly into the earth, not into a grave vault. To find out if your cemetery will allow for Green burial it's as simple as asking them or having us inquire for you.

Locally, Serenity Ridge in Windsor Mill and Baltimore Hebrew Congregation offer Green Burial in their cemeteries. In Annapolis, Bestgate Memorial Gardens is another provider of Green Burial in Maryland. In Virginia, just an hour and a half drive from Baltimore is Cool Spring Natural Cemetery in Berryville, VA. It is a very peaceful site that is well worth the drive. Parkview Funeral Home takes care of every part of your Green Burial Arrangement including transportation to a cemetery in another state. We offer caskets (Photos and prices are below) that are made of natural materials which fully decompose when buried. Body preparation for Green burial offered by Parkview Funeral Home consists of refrigeration, the use of topical sprays/compounds, or arterial embalming with essential oils. No toxic or non-biodegradable materials/chemicals are used. Public visitations and services in our funeral home, home wakes, church funerals and graveside services are options we can arrange for you within the time frame that a green funeral allows. 

All of the package offerings listed in the General Price List can be adapted to Green burial. A popular option is the Immediate Burial with Graveside Service for $2400.00 plus cost of casket.
